東京藝術大学古楽科チェンバロ専攻卒業。同大学院修士課程古楽科フォルテピアノ専攻修了。チェンバロ、通奏低音を鈴木雅明、フォルテピアノを小島芳子、小倉貴久子の各氏に師事。ブルージュ国際古楽コンクール・フォルテピアノ部門に於いてセミファイナリストに選ばれ、奨励賞を受賞。ベルギー政府奨学生として、ブリュッセル王立音楽院に留学、フォルテピアノをボヤン・ヴォデニチャロフ、ピート・クイケンの各氏に師事、名誉賞付きディプロマを得て卒業。ヨーロッパ各地にてフォルテピアノ・リサイタルを開催、好評を得る。また、「バッハ・コレギウム・ジャパン」、「イル・ガルデリーノ」、「コレギウム・ヴォカーレ・ゲント」、「リチェルカール・コンソート」など国内外のアンサンブルに、チェンバロ・フォルテピアノ・オルガンの通奏低音奏者として参加している。2008～2013年まで、ベルギー・アントワープ王立音楽院フォルテピアノ科にて、客員教授としてP.クイケン氏と共に後進の指導に当たった。帰国後は東京を中心にソロ、アンサンブル奏者として活発に活動を行っている。桐朋学園大学古楽器科嘱託演奏員。

Mai Shigeoka was born in 1981 in Japan. She studied harpsichord with Masaaki Suzuki and pianoforte with Yoshiko Kojima and Kikuko Ogura at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and obtained a master's degree .

She studied pianoforte with Boyan Vodenitcharov and Piet Kuijken, chamber music with Barthold Kuijken, Jan De Winne and Luc Bergé the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels and obtained a master's degree with 'Great Distinction'. She also studied pianoforte with the pianist Jan Vermeulen.
She has given many concerts in Japan, Belgium, Austria and Germany as a soloist, a continuo player and a accompanist.
She was awarded a scholarship of the Government of Flanders between 2006-07.
At the Early Music Competition in Brugge she was given a Honorable Mention of pianoforte in 2004 and 2007.
She played with several groups such as 'Il Gardellino (dir. Jan De winne)', 'Recercar Consort (dir. Philippe Pierlot)' and 'Collegium Vocale Gent' (dir. Philippe Herreweghe)' in Belgium. Also she was invited to several solo concerts in Maasmechelen, at Royal Instrumetal Museum in Brussels, in Salzburg and in Stuttgart.

Between 2008 and 2013 she was teaching pianoforte as a guest proffessor at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp. 

SInce 2013 she lives in Tokyo, Japan.
